Android Froyo disappears from the distribution of versions while Nougat is still not taking off
January 10, 2017
we have here the first distribution version Android of this 2017. Google has updated with date of yesterday, January 9, the data with the current penetration of the different versions of your mobile operating system.
The surprise of this month is found in Android 2.2 Froyo launched in 2010, and it is that disappear of the distribution of versions after several months of resisting with a 0.1% penetration in the market. This means that the version of the yoghurt ice cream is already below the 0.1 per cent, with their presence in the market is already residual, and it is for this reason that WhatsApp decided to stop giving support to this version it was back on the 1st of January.
The most recent versions of the operating system, Android Marshmallow and Android Nougat are the only ones that are gaining market share thanks to devices that are switched in and out of the factory with these versions. Marshmallow goes from 26.3% to 29.6 per cent and Nougat goes from 0.4% to 0.7%.
This month we see as they appear in the distribution the two versions of Nougat. In particular Android 7.0 is in the 0.5% and Android 7.0 in 0.2%. The expansion is still very slow but it is something normal, because until the middle of this year will not pick up speed its penetration in the market thanks to the new mobile and updates to Nougat.
the rest of The versions continues to lose presence in the market. Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich have already months to have the same fate as Android Froyo, as both versions are already in the 1.0% and 1.1% of devices.
