    Misfortune Netflix

Netflix continues forward with their plan of domination of the audiovisual world and to do so does not hesitate to make the big bets in the face to conquer the largest possible audience. The next one is ‘A series of catastrophic misfortunes’, a new adaptation of the novels of Lemony Snicket (a pseudonym used by author Daniel Handler), who has just launched a trailer in which he teaches all of the arsenal that we can see from the January 13.

As you will recall, in 2004 premiered a fun film version starring Jim Carrey giving life to the machiavellian Count Olaf, a character who on this occasion has gone to the hands of Neil Patrick Harris. The story revolves around three orphans who go to live with the above-mentioned Count Olaf, whose sole purpose is to get rid of them to stay with their inheritance.

The great challenge of ‘A series of catastrophic misfortunes’ would be to see if known to reproduce the peculiar tone of the 13 original novels. For it has in its favor that it will focus more on the novels than in the 2004 film, which mixed several stories giving the feeling of going a tad fast. For now their managers will have 8 episodes to do so, but have not said anything at any time to be a miniseries, so surely the idea is to continue to more forward of that.

Patrick Warburton, Joan Cusack, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, K. Todd Freeman, Aasif Mandvi,Catherine O’hara, Don Johnson and Alfre Woodard round out the cast, while Mark Hudis, writer of series such as ‘That ’70s Show’, ‘Nurse Jackie’ and ‘True Blood’, has been in charge of the creative control.
