The National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE) has warned on Friday that cybercriminals often leverage the campaign Christmas to propagate scams, viruses and malicious software taking advantage that many people share postcards via e-mail.”Are the dates chosen by the criminals to carry out their attacks, especially those involving social engineering, where they earn our trust, to propagate scams, viruses and all types of malicious software that infect our computers, steal private information and defraud financially“, has pointed out, the technological centre in a press release.The most frequent scams are christmas greetings dangerous, that by the appearance of an electronic card of “Happy Holidays” can lead the user to download a “Happy Malware” after clicking on a link or open an attached file or on-line applications deceptive, designed at times to steal data by taking advantage of all the permissions requested during the installation process, warns the center.
