A prior commitment to a solidarity act prevent the actor who played Captain Kirk, William Shatner, attend Sunday’s funeral of his friend and co-star in Star Trek , Leonard Nimoy, the actor who gave life to mythical Mr . Spock.

The actor will find it impossible to attend the ceremony because he is in Florida, where he will participate in a charity event organized by the Red Cross, with which they had committed long before , as explained by Shatner himself on his Twitter profile.
