James David Rodríguez Rubio, better known as James Rodríguez, was born in the city of Cúcuta on July 12, 1991 and is currently one of the best known Colombian footballers in the world and one of the greatest projection.
The idol of Colombian soccer
James went to live from very young to the city of Ibagué, where he made his first studies and where he spent his childhood. It would be there where he began his career as a footballer. In his beginnings he played as a creation flyer in the neighborhood courts, and also in different city championships.
At twelve, James won the pony soccer tournament in the city of Medellín. Soon after, in 2005, the Envigado Football Club fixed its eyes on him and James made his debut in a first division team.
Later he was part of the Colombia sub 17 national team, and was part of the roster that played the 2007 World Cup in Korea.
In 2008, after his stint at Envigado Soccer Club he was signed by the Argentinean Athletic Club Banfield. It would be there, in Argentina where he became the youngest foreign player to debut and score a goal, only 17 years old.
In 2010 it was acquired by El Porto for a sum of five million euros, and in 2011 he managed to raise with his team the Portuguese Super Cup, the league trophy, the UEFA Europa League and the Portuguese Cup.
In 2013 Porto acquired all of James’ sporting rights and, in that same year, the news of his signing by Monaco, of France, was announced through a transaction that amounted to 45 million euros.
Then, during the World Cup of Brazil 2014, James was one of the players who shone the most and, with his goals, the Colombian team advanced to the quarterfinals and, at the end of the orbital tournament, and with only 22 years, it would rise with the golden boot for having been the scorer of the World Cup with 6 goals. Additionally his goal against Uruguay was chosen as the best of the contest.
Then, in July 2014 it was announced his transfer to the galactic team, Real Madrid for six seasons, and in August he won with his team the European Super Cup with the Madrid team, where he has been vital and decisive in many matches scoring several goals Impressive.
