High-end devices less than 5 inches an impossible dream?

If you take a look at the mobile market with screens 4.6 inches or less, you will not find any large terminal that incorporates a quad-core processor, 8 megapixel camera and 2GB of RAM. All limited to dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM and mediocre cameras (except in the case of the Xperia S and T, of course).

Mind you, this does not say that the big screens should not to exist, that I am the first to recognize that in many cases are useful, but smaller devices claim high-end specifications for those who do not want to wear a shoe phone in your pocket, which although not enough are enough.

Many will think that the small screen would not work in the market because people are looking for 4.7 inch screens forward, but only to look iPhone 5, whose modest 4-inch screen has sold millions and millions of units. And better yet, the iPhone 4 and 4S, which even smaller screens ( 3.5 inches) were great successes in sales.

But if Apple is not the only one, as Motorola said they have plans to launch devices with content sizes and the public also responded well to it. Indeed, many are waiting for these Motorola smartphones with smaller screens and stock Android hit the market for mobile switch (see Motorola X-Phone).

Instead of continuing to increase the size of screens might try to improve outdoor visibility or enhance resistance of these, two weaknesses that have been dragging on for a long time and that no company has proposed to completely resolve. Likewise, you could also work on energy consumption of these, because the screens are big eaters battery, which in the current situation we can not splurge if we end the day on a single charge. That said, just hope the new vision of Motorola manufacturers make others think and, above all, to the users, who are the ones who really have in their power the ability to display high-end devices with smaller screens, because if we refuse to buy mobile great, they will have no need to reduce the size.
