android 4.4.4 kitkat eal

Yesterday Google surprised us all with a new update of Android, version 4.4.4 . Beyond resolve small details as general problems with WiFi or battery, the main intention was correct a serious security flaw in OpenSSL discovered three weeks ago.

is called “hotfix” these patches in the air. Android 4.4 can not be considered as a first class operating system if it is not protected against a fault that can easily bypass their protections. In the review of insecurity, Google has responded with a new version. Nothing less.

Put aside the interpretations and will gather all the information we have about this new version. This will publish the OTAs appear, then we will see the changelog and generally avoid creating a new article for each terminal to be updated.

ROMs updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat

Both OmniROM and paranoidandroid and CyanogenMod and other upgraded to Android 4.4.3 as soon as they could. Only a few days were needed for the changes were introduced in different Nightlys. However with Android 4.4.4 might be different.

Perhaps the biggest problem

Google has simply been the number change, one that we should not give much importance. Indeed CyanogenMod ensures not update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat because hotfixes OpenSSL is already implemented in their ROMs since June 6.

Other details

This new update will cause what is that all developers have to get to work to offer its customers the latest version . As we see, is small but important, it should not take away too long.

The security flaw in OpenSSL did think towelroot would stop working, but have checked as if still useful.

Other apps which we are aware that they have been quick They are; , you’ve already added the kernels and KitKat recoverys Android 4.4.4 (by no change, which is only about the name change).

Many are wondering what this update is due. Obviously we do not know, but as stated earlier security is important to Google. Next week could see a new version or stay as we are. Whatever changes for owners of a Nexus and probably for other upcoming Android too.
