‘A series of catastrophic misfortunes‘ does not reach Netflix until January 13, but the platform has launched the first teaser that allows us to take a look at one of their aspects that are more striking: the presence of Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf, role went to Jim Carrey in the film adaptation of the books of Lemony Snicket (pseudonym of Daniel Handler).
These are spearheaded by three siblings orphans who go to live with Count Olaf, a kind of eccentric and evil that only wants to get the fortune of the parents. Lemony Snicket is the narrator of the story because, in addition, it is involved indirectly in it, and counts everything from irony and exaggeration of everything.
Patrick Warburto, Neil Patrick Harris, and children, Malina Weissman (‘Supergirl’), and Louis Hynes are the protagonists of the series, which monitors Mark Hudis, screenwriter of, among others, ‘Hand of God‘, ‘Nurse Jackie‘ or ‘True Blood‘. ‘A series of catastrophic misfortunes’ is going to be more books to follow the movie of 2004, but we’ll see if the peculiar tone of the story is well portrayed.
