Indeed it was an April 14, 1912 when the Titanic, the largest ship built to date, sank in the Atlantic Ocean after hitting an iceberg.
The incident led to the death of about 1,512 people, which perished by drowning or due to Hypothermia caused by the low temperatures in the icy waters in the North Atlantic.
Supposedly, the wreck was to leave from the English city Southampton up to New York. However, many of the nearly 2,500 passengers reached their destination.
Quickly the news spread by almost everyone, but especially by the United States and England. In fact, the newspaper “The New York Times” published just two days after news of the incident, also compiling a list of some of the survivors.
The Titanic was designed by Thomas Andrews, and although at the time it was said that it was “the king of the seas” or “floating palace”, their 270 meters long are be almost insignificant when compared with those of a modern cruise
