Root Samsung Galaxy S3 Tutorial 4.1.2 Android Jelly Bean (XXEMC2)

Moments ago Samsung launched a new Android 4.1.2 official firmware (XXEMC2) for the Galaxy S3. Just saw a tutorial so you can upgrade and now I bring a sencilloa guide that will show you how to get root access on the firmware with CF Root.

XXEMC2 This firmware is a Samsung official firmware is now available in the UK, Germany, Czech Republic and Southeast Asia. As I have been getting a lot of inquiries about how to gain root access to different devices today I bring you a tutorial to do it with CF root.


firmware details:

  • PDA : I9300XXEMC2
  • CSC : I9300XXAEMC2
  • Android Version : 4.1.2
  • Date : March 2013

Prerequisites:

All data such as contacts, SMS , photos, music and videos will be deleted if they are stored in the phone. It is recommended to back up your data with KIES as it creates the backup in the format (. SBU) sometimes have problems in restoring or recognize the phone. Therefore, we strongly recommend you backup contacts and SMS will perform the following steps:

  • SMS – Use “SMS Backup and Restore application
  • Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application
  • Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to SD card
  • To note the APN settings and MMS Applications> Settings> Wireless & networks> , Mobile networks> APN
  • Make sure all security solutions such as firewalls, antivirus and application KIES close completely until the firmware update is complete.
  • Note that you have to charge your phone at least 60% of battery to ensure it will not interrupt the update.
  • Never interrupt the firmware update process manually, in case, if it is interrupted by power failure then no need to worry because all you have to do is follow the instructions only from the beginning.
  • is very important that you make sure you have ADMIN privileges before proceeding to update the phone. You must also enable the USB port which means that you must have read / write to the firmware can be applied successfully. To do this go to Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging . Note that the phone must be disconnected from the computer when you do this step.
  • This process should be carried out only on the Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300) and not on other versions.

    1 – Before you begin, you should check which version of Android in which you find yourself. For this go to Settings -> About device -> and check the version. If you’re in XXEMC2 can continue, but must upgrade to this firmware following this tutorial .

    2 – Once you have installed the firmware XXLS2, you have to download the following files to your computer:

    CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.zip (includes SuperSU 0.93, ClockworkMod (CWM) CWM Recovery Manager v5.5 and 3.60).

  • ODIN v1.85
  • 4 – Turn off your Galaxy S3 to start in Download Mode. To do this you must keep center button + Volume Down and simultaneously press the power button . If done correctly you will see a green robot.

    5 – Then connect the device to your PC using the USB cable original and you’ll see that the section ID: COM in Odin turns yellow.

    Once the ID: COM is yellow in PDA must select the file CF-Root- SGS3-v6.4.tar that you downloaded in step 1 and click on “Start ” to start the root process. Once the process is complete, the phone will automatically restart.

    NOTE : reboot may take longer than usual. Do not worry, it’s normal.

    6 – Success! You’ll have root access to your Galaxy S3 in the firmware XXEEMC2! Easy, is not it?
