
Sonos announced this week that their speakers One, Beam, Playbase and the second generation of Play:5 come now with AirPlay support 2, allowing control via Siri, and audio, multi-room.
This is the first time that the speakers of Groves, which include AirPlay, allowing users to stream audio from iTunes on Mac, and any application of iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, including Apple Music, YouTube, Spotify, Hulu, Pandora and Netflix, in the speakers Sonos compatible via Wifi.
AirPlay lets you perform control via Apple’s Siri Music and playback of Podcasts on the speakers Sonos compatible through iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Home, and Apple TV.
AirPlay 2 allows you to perform audio playback in multiple rooms for speakers Sonos-matched with other speakers, Sonos HomePod and Apple Tvs. The speakers of Sonos appear in AirPlay Picker within apps and the Control Center of iOS devices.
The speakers of older models do not have support with AirPlay 2, but in the application of Sonos can be match with any of the speakers with support to achieve the support of the new protocol by Apple.
AirPlay 2 is available from may on iOS 11.4 and offers also has support for other speakers in addition to Sonos: Beoplay, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Libratone, Marantz, Naim, and others.
The support of AirPlay 2 is available through a free software update through the Sonos application Controllercompanion in the App Store.
