Are you one of those who still prefer the analog methods to organize? You may be interested strikethru
Despite how much I love technology, and regardless of the number of applications to lists and manage agendas that are available, some of us just do not serve to organize our daily life on a screen. For that reason, and because we love cross out the things we have achieved in the day on paper Bullet Journal have achieved success among certain people that want to be productive without sacrificing . his fetish for paper
A more recent method, using some of the aspects of the method bullet journal of philosophy and other Getting Things Done , it is called strikethru . Strikethru is an analog system to allow you to achieve the goals that you raise you, using paper, pencil and three basics:
The “live list”
The “live list” or “live list” is the heart of the system: it is the list that you’ll always refer you start working on something. It should contain all the things that need to be done at this time, and can be used as a list of “things to do today,” or as a permanent list of things to do. In the first case, the end of the day you should check all items on the list as done, deleted, or migrated the next day. In the second case, the list remains active until it is full, and only when filled can create a new list and review all the elements in the above, to delete or migrate whatever it takes.
The “live list” is created during a process called “review” and that in my opinion should be part of any system of working arrangements. It’s useless to make lists if we never see . Screening is the process by which you examine your lists and decide what things need to be done now, which no longer need to be made, and which are left for later.
The emptying, or “dump”
The “dump” is a place to put anything that we can go through your head. Do, yes, but also ideas, future plans, wildest dreams, things we would find later, heard in passing sentences. During the review, we must go through this list and see if anything needs to be moved to the “live list” or the vault.
Finally, Dome is used to collect tasks that can be assigned to a specific list; for example, a list of tasks for a particular project. In this case, we would write in the dome section of the project list and under that title, all the tasks. When we go to work in any of these tasks, we must move to the live list before doing so.
The creator of the system indicates that can from a basic configuration, which include only the casting list and “live” list to identify what needs to be done in the present moment at all times. If you need a little more detail, you can spend to what he calls the “standard” design, which adds section vault. In this section, we may have predefined lists, such as “to do for this month” or “goals for the year.”
If you are a person especially busy, we recommend the version “pro” which simply adds a calendar section so you can schedule appointments and events for a given day, one aspect for which everyone ends up finding a different solution in systems similar to bullet journal, since they are not exactly intuitive to manage meetings and events with fixed date.
The interesting strikethru method, like others who work with paper and pencil based, is its flexibility, since P ou can adapt to your needs, and work in conjunction with other methods such as Pomodoro or Kanban . Personally, though I plan to keep using the journal to get organized bullet method, I decided to take some strikethru ideas and adapt them to my system, such as the ability to prioritize tasks using the 1-3-5 rule , and the notion of have a function as a “dump” of all my ideas.
