Google Keyboard is now Gboard. The keyboard of Google in its update to the version 6.0 shortens his name to welcome the functions that premiered in the middle of this year on iOS.

The keyboard Gboard for Android finally allows us to perform searches on Google from their built-in search engine so we don’t have to leave the application you are using. But not only that, it also allows us to search animated GIFs, search, emojis and much more options that we will cover in detail below.

The first change that we find in Gboard is the new pestañita with the arrow icon that appears in the left part of the suggestions. Clicking on the arrow will deploy the new option of Google search next to the theme selector, change the size of the keyboard and access the settings of the keyboard.

The built-in search engine allows us to perform queries on Google from its own keyboard and attach as text the result. We can search or ask Google what that is, but the keyboard is only we return a unique result in our consultation. Here on Android is not attached to the image of the card as if it happens in iOS.

GBoard brings to the devices with Android 4.2 or higher one of the what’s new Android 7.1 Nougat. The keyboard Google allows you to search and share animated GIFs, but only in applications that support this new feature, as Hangouts or Google Messenger.

Another search engine that comes to Gboard is the of emojis. Now to find an emoji is just as easy and fast as write your name in the search box.

To access the built-in search engine of Google we have to perform two steps, first deploy all of the actions on the keyboard and then click on the magnifying glass. If you want to access more quickly to the keyboard, we can add the button “G” as on iOS. To do this we just need to go to Settings > Search > Show the button “G”. So we will have always visible the icon of the Google search engine.

Also from the settings of the keyboard GBoard, you can activate the row numbers if we want to see always the additional row of numbers.

finally, another novelty that we find in Gboard is that if you have multiple languages enabled, the bar spacing you will see the list of activated languages. The space bar will show us in the first option the enabled language along to the next two languages from the list. To change to the next language so you just have to press the button on the terrestrial globe.
