YouTube Music just be set as the last application in becoming a compatible with Android Auto, the adaptation of Android for vehicles. According to XDA, in version 3.03 of YouTube Music has enabled this support, so that any user can, from now on, view your playlists and control the music without touching the smartphone.
to access this new feature, just update the application and go to the section “Music” Android Auto clicking on the icon of the headphones. There you will see all the supported services, among which you will find YouTube Music. It is important to note that in order to use it you have to be subscriber to the service.
Control the music without looking at the phone
YouTube Music features in Android Auto five categories, to know your mixtures, recommended, recently played, library and downloads. Within the library section you can access your playlists and songs you have liked, while that from downloads you’ll be able to play the songs you have available in the mobile to listen offline.
As with all music apps-compatible with Android Auto, the interface of YouTube Music displays the album art of the song you are listening to, a button of Play or pause, and the two buttons to move to the next or to the previous song. It is a simple interface and easy intended to not get distracted while driving.
As we mentioned before, you can only use YouTube Music on Android Auto if you are a subscriber to the service. If you’re not, a warning will appear indicating that you should update your YouTube account. If you are interested in, the price of the monthly subscription is 9.99 euros, although you can share it with several people by using a family account at a price of 14.99 euros.
Theoretically, the update has already been deployed on Google Play, but if not you can always download the APK file from APK Mirror and install it manually. Keep in mind that for this you need to enable installation from unknown sources.
