Facebook Messenger receives the long-awaited redesign simplified, for now in test

earlier this year, Facebook he promised us simplify your messaging application Messenger, which, after years of couple news without much order or concert and had become little less than a small monstruito.

The redesign is already here, although as always happens in these cases, only for some users that have seen overnight as your Messenger, it changed its appearance completely without any update or action on your part.

    Less is more

Android Police collect screen shots of a user that has the new design turned on so we can get a good idea of what is coming. While currently Messenger account with the buttons at the bottom and tabs at the top, the redesign simplifies several of these sections: the navigation is reduced to three paragraphs.

The first tab displays the chats recent, the second the list of contacts and third, explore, is the drawer of tailor where goes all the rest of things that are not the above as games or bots.

Well by the simplification of the interface and the navigation, although the design is a bit peculiar in terms of fonts and use of colour (or rather “do not use color”). It is not very consistent with the design of the app Facebook or Material Design, but well, for now it’s a beta, we will see in what it ends.

The conversation window has also been renewed, though less. Disappears the information button in the top window, but otherwise we have the same elements crowded on the interface. What does change is the typography, although even that is not what we see in other phones we can’t be sure if it is the layer of personalization of the person who took the screenshots.

    And with dark mode

    Redi

Although we have no new screenshots of new screens of the dark mode, at the last Facebook F8 may Facebook let us see the redesign of the app with a dark mode, that should arrive with the final version.

The redesign dark that we saw then is consistent with the new screenshots, so that it is very likely that this is the final look that take our Facebook Messenger in the coming weeks or months. Or not, it would not be the first time that Facebook change idea.
