Google launches Instant Tethering on 15 new Chromebooks, and more than 30 mobile Android

    Google launches Instant Tethering on 15 new Chromebooks, and more than 30 Android mobile

    With the launch of the Pixelbook at the end of 2017, Google premiered Instant Tethering, a new feature of Chrome OS and Android that until now was unique to the devices of the manufacturer.

    Instant Tethering allows you to our Android device instantly share the connection with our Chromebook with a single click. When the Chromebook doesn’t detect a Wifi connection, and locate by Bluetooth to our mobile phone, it will display a notification that invites us to connect the laptop to the connection of our mobile, ahorrandonos the several steps to do to manually enable the tethering of Android.

    New Chromebooks compatible

    Up to now the only devices with Chrome OS are compatible with Instant Tethering were the Google Pixelbook and Google Pixel Slate. Now the list is extended with a 15 new Chromebooks:

    Connection sharing instántanea

    Instant Tethering

    By default the Instant Tethering is enabled by default on our Android device. Is configured from the Settings > Google > Connection sharing instántanea. For that to work both the Chromebook as a mobile phone must have activated the Bluetooth for the location of nearby devices.
