Young CEO: designer bow ties
Over the years we have seen the re-creation of historical photographs in The Simpsons. Here are some of the most recognizable.
The Simpsons are, for better or for worse, eternal . If I had my way the series would have ended after the ninth season, or at least a little later when it was visible evidence that the quality loss was dramatic. It would have been a series improved over time and never waned, but what can we do. Part of the legacy of The Simpsons are its continuous cultural references, and today we aim toward it, to the historical photographs that were recreated scenes from The Simpsons at some point in the series.
When newspapers were left ready at midnight
Come up with the first, which leads these lines. It is 02×19 episode in which Bart aspires to be the chief of its kind to beat Martin Prince. Although it seemed that Bart would win by a landslide result, because nobody loses their voters he is responsible enough to go to vote. After the victory of Martin, this shows a newspaper front page with the headline “Simpson defeats Prince” (“Simpson Defeats Prince). It is a reference to the US elections in 1948, when Truman beat Dewey against all Forecast . The newspapers were left ready the night before, and there was no time to change the cover of the Chicago Tribune, saying, “Dewey Defeats Truman.” The photo of Truman smiling and holding one specimen was history.
Lyndon B. Johnson being sworn in as President of the United States, aboard Air Force One after the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 .
In 1963, John F. Kennedy was assassinated. After his death, Lyndon B. Johnson had to swear the office of US President aboard Air Force One. In chapter 4 of the fourth season, Homer Lisa enrolled in child beauty contest to try to increase their self-esteem. He eventually won after the winner was to be suffering an injury. Something similar to the way that Johnson became president. Hence the “tribute”. By the way, Marge attire is like Onassis, and the facial expression of Homer also has its counterpart in the original photo. The original photo is of Cecil W. Stoughton, the official photographer of Kennedy
In the sixth to the tenth season we can see Abe Simpson in Woodstock in 1969, Jimi Hendrix booing and cursing the hippies of the festival. It recreated the picture is the same as the photographer Burk Uzzle of … but with the grandfather sitting in a chair screaming.
The fall of Saigon
The number 16 of the sixth season. The Simpsons end up in Australia and cause a series of catastrophic misfortunes ™. Finally they have to leave the country in a helicopter from the US Embassy to be persecuted. The original image represents the fall of the Saigon during the Vietnam War, and with it, the American defeat in the war, in 1975. In it, South Vietnamese trying to escape desperate which is believed to be the last American helicopter that could get them out of there, because the Viet Cong army was about to come.
Elvis and Mr. Burns
In the seventh chapter of the fourth season you can see a picture that keeps Smithers in his office: Burns and Elvis Presley shaking hands. Inspiration / parody of the resulting picture comes after the meeting that they held at the time Presley and President Richard Nixon.
In the eighth of the season 15 , a group of citizens without children end up wiping out everything about childhood in Springfield. Milhouse tears trying to see everything. In the original picture you can see a Parisian citizen who cries to see how the Nazis made to Paris in 1940. The photographer was George Mejat
The Solfamidas and The Beatles
Little to say here, is clearly a quartet inspired by The Beatles and in several scenes the picture was a tribute.
Selma in Tiananmen
In the sixteenth season, in chapter 12, Selma travels to China to try to adopt a child. An official from social services just chasing the mythical Tiananmen Square, giving the name and location of one of the most famous photographs in history, captured by Jeff Widener in 1989. The strength of a humble citizen against the tanks that had foot … student protests that ended in bloodshed.
