Now that the Mobile World Congress 2015 has come to an end, we review the major fails in the history of this event.
This week Mobile World Congress ended . One year, companies moved to the Catalan capital to present to the world its innovations in the field of telephony. Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG … no this event was lost and unnoticed these days.
But all the news presented by these big companies, every year are advertisements only have their time at Mobile World Congress and then haps! disappear without. Examples include 3D technology in 2011 or the courier Joyn submitted by operators to fight WhatsApp.
Today, just with the Mobile World Congress 2015 just ended, we review the major fails of the recent history of the event this year’s biggest phone.
LG Optimus 3D and 3D displays on smartphones
LG came in 2011 with two major innovations: the dual-core processors (LG Optimus 2X) and 3D ( LG Optimus screens for smartphones 3D ). The first trend settled over the months into a standard; the second one, we went frog. The 3D did not quite take off or smartphones or living room screens. Today nobody talks about 3D, or appear to do so in a while
Joyn, rival WhatsApp that even off
With the growth of WhatsApp and other messaging services (which were stealing profits to major telcos in the world), several companies have partnered to launch Joyn , a messaging system that come preinstalled on all mobile devices across brands and intended to compete with WhatsApp, Telegram, BBM and the like. The problem is that Joyn never took off. He appeared, was, but never managed relevance beyond that Mobile World Congress
Ultrapixel, technology never triumphed
HTC introduced the HTC One (M7) towards the Mobile World Congress 2013 (actually the event was a few days before of the fair). Beside him, the Ultrapixel technology in its camera, which ensured a greater amount of light in photographs and better results. The problem is that that extra light was not enough to sacrifice Resolution to just 4 megapixels. A failure.
