
A few days starting 2016 we get the updated data distribution of Android versions for this brand new month January in which the trend of the last month is followed, no surprises.
With data collected during a period of seven days ending last January 4 devices have been connected to Google Play during those days we see the three most recent versions of Android continue to gain market presence.
Version Android Lollipop is the one that is gaining market share every month, namely the version of Android 5.1 passing from 13.2% last month to the current 15.7%. Lollipop remains the second most used version with 32.6% with the addition of Android 5.0 and 5.1.

The most used version is still Android 4.4 KitKat with 36.1% share (previously 36.6%), with what you have and Lollipop numbered months to overcome it. The third version is the most widely used versions of Jelly Bean with 24.7% in total.
The latest version, Android 6.0 Marshmallow continues to grow slowly but unfinished takeoff, from 0.5% last month to 0.7%. As usual, the newest version of Android will not take off until mid-year, when the MWC 2015 last begin to reach more mobile market with this production version.
The rest of antigas Android versions dee continue losing share. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at 2.7% (up 2.9%), Android 2.3 Gingerbread at 3.0% (up 3.4%) and Android 2.2 Froyo follows with 0.2%.
