Since late last year, the Google Play Store is activated in a staggered manner -and very slow – a new interface for the section of ratings and reviews, when your new filters one of their main new features.
The filter star, to view only ratings with a certain score, now it is joined by the new filters for see only the positive views or negative regardless of the star rating given by the user.
Filtering by opinions, positive or negative
These two new filters that have begun to appear in the new interface you have the names of Positive and Critical. With the filter “Positive” should appear only the positive reviews and the filter to “Critical” only the negative reviews, but in practice it is not so.
Google is pulling the artificial intelligence to classify as positive and negative opinions, analyzing the key words in the text to identify the valuation without taking into account the star rating. We can find ratings of two stars with a positive opinion or ratings of three stars with a negative opinion.
The problem is that is not working 100% as it should, because it detects some negative reviews as positive, and vice versa. The system tends to fail in reviews that speak to the past, that an application was very good but in your last update screwed up. Maybe that’s why still these filters are still in testing and are not available for all the world. Still Google has to improve the detection of positive reviews and negative.
