Clara Elvira Ospina, journalist from Boyaca

With her femininity combined with the intelligence and strength that characterize her, she directed for three and a half years one of the most important television news programs in the country. Today, with nostalgia for leaving her nation and her land in Boyacá, she also leaves with joy and satisfaction to take up her new position as journalistic director of the Peruvian TV station América TV.

A female journalistic talent

Clara was born in Paipa and when she was two years old, her family moved to Chiquinquirá where she lived the stage of childhood and youth. Her vocation was always guided and exemplified by her father, the renowned journalist and poet from Boyacá, Raúl Ospina, who finally led her to join the RCN Channel work team for about 14 years, where she worked as a reporter, chronicler, chief of broadcast, assistant director, until becoming news director.

This journalist who represents the beauty and talent of the Boyacá woman and did her internship in El Tiempo and her first national jobs in QAP, also conducted the ‘Clearly’ opinion program, in which several government officials and life characters public passed through the forceful and timely questions of Clara Elvira, who in a professional and ethical manner did not hesitate on several occasions to launch strong criticism towards their interviewees, such as former transport minister Andrés Uriel Gallego, whom he recommended to present his resigns “for incompetent.”

“I am neither the first nor the last, with family and work”, responds to anyone who questions her about her role as a wife and as a mother and adds that she considers being a woman and directing one of the best news of the country, he demanded the possibility not only of making a difference, but also of strengthening what had been achieved until that moment.

Today Clara resides in Peru and is remembered by all Colombians, especially by the Boyacans, who in the month of the women stand out and take pride because in these lands where independence and freedom flourished, the beauty and talent of Your women who are capable of inspiring an entire country.
