Oppo Find 7a: Analysis and user experience

China is going strong, and this is no longer a secret. Some brands have long been known among us, but for the last time as the whisper of other Oppo and Xiaomi sounds louder, and that China is not only manufactures components and cheaply for others to take rich selling phones, now also manufactures its phones, high quality and competitive prices.

When introduced Oppo Find the 7th were in China attending the presentation and counting everything from this country so unknown to us live in such an event. We made a little after the 7th Find and we’ve been testing this smartphone, and here is our analysis and user experience.

Materials and Design

When we take first Oppo Find the 7th in our hands we realize at once good finished materials. We are not in a metal telephone or rear glass, on the contrary, it is almost all plastic, but it is a huge example of how a smartphone made of this material can have a very good finish, and it simply needs to be designed well and achieve a look like this.

The front shows a screen 5.5 “, maybe something big in size, as in 5 – 5.2″ seems to be the limit of usability smartphones without giving way to the big screen. The profiles are very tight, but perhaps the bottom is a bit old in size, but otherwise we see that the ratio of the total size of the front versus the size of the screen is very good, and that’s always a plus, especially when we go to 5.5 “, a very large size.

In the bottom of the front panel features LED notifications, which christens Oppo skyline notification because it comes not from a single point light, if not a line that fills most of the front side to side, creating a nice gradient effect with the strongest central and the weakest side in brightness. A detail very carefully.

The side bezel is divided into four sections, a black band that joins the edge of the screen, and two alternating metallic finish with two white, the latter being located in the back cover of the phone. This combination, as we said before, a very sexy to your look, and again shows the potential of good design using only plastic.

The wings are very simple. We found the microUSB connector on the bottom, the volume buttons on the right side, the headphone jack on the top and the power button on the left side. The buttons, as often happens in almost all Android smartphones are not too good finish, and dance lightly. This finish is something to which we are accustomed, but whenever we find a phone that looks after the finish of the buttons have to highlight it reminds us how well this can be done. Not the case Oppo Find the 7th , but again, that is not the case for many Android smartphones.

As for the button layout is not my favorite. This is something very personal, but I find it much easier to handle the phone with one hand when the power button is on the right side because it is more accessible with the thumb for those who are right-handed. For lefties is much better placed all the Find the 7th , but again, this is ultimately a matter of taste, custom and usage type of smartphone.

If we were to the back of the smartphone find 13 Megapixel camera with dual LED flash and dual speaker output, Oppo is located in the back of the Find 7. The good thing, at least for many users, we can remove the back cover and access the battery, which can be removed and changed. Here we also find the microSD and microSIM slots, both accessible only if we remove the battery, since we can not introduce or withdraw any of these cards without removing the battery.

Finally to mention control buttons that here are capacitive are located below the display, which will increasingly seeing less. The arrangement and choice of these is something we dislike the phone, and it does not include multitasking button and stayed with the settings. Also the back is on the right side. The latter is an advantage for those who have small hand and for those who are accustomed to a Samsung (which so popular did this provision), but I keep seeing more logical to put the “back” button on the left side.

Overall Oppo Find the 7th is a smartphone that has fascinated us for its finishes, materials and design, being very simple but resultón , and the end is what it is. We found no revolution in design, but very well done, is sturdy and feels great in the hand.

Find the 7th has what Oppo called a modification of Android, but in reality is little more than its own launcher. It is true that we find coloros to the deeper menus Find 7a and much attention has been paid to detail, but as always, much depends on the user like it or not. Some prefer pure Android, other modifications to the last detail. For coloros have the latter, and is what we see in the Find 7.

But it’s nothing too different from what we find on any Android or launcher, and all is based on the same . The unlock screen is completely standard, with a center point to move to unlock the phone and ability to slide the notification bar, nothing new here. We can also set up the ability to add widgets to these.

The main screen is based on a number of desktops that can increase as icons, shortcuts and widgets you want, with a fixed screen on the right side that changes depending on the use you are giving the phone. In the normal mode is active and intelligent photo widget, but if we start listening to music, for example, will change to be a widget that allows you to control music playback. And once again we find the same flaw as many launchers have, the inability to expand the number of columns, resulting in a maximum of four. Many may not bother you, but with a screen of 5.5 “and not be able to climb four columns is a failure.

Regarding the application drawer, is quite limited. The applications are ordered for installation and have to press and hold an application to display a poster that allows us to go alphabetically. The problem is that from here again leave applications by adding installation order and we have to repeat the same action to sort alphabetically. This same press on a app let us uninstall any application or move them to the main screen. It is unintuitive to have to click on an application to enter into a general mode settings affect all applications, it is logical that the settings button give us this access, but it is not.

The Notification bar is where we see more customization, and is in fact divided into two. If deployed from 3/4 right parts open normal notification bar, which shows a direct access to settings, brightness control and notifications. We can also re-deploy it from slightly below to show other settings, pretty well designed to save space on a first look, but I still prefer the solution of native Android to access button settings allows deployed directly using two fingers .

most interesting thing occurs when we deploy the notification bar from the left room, and we’ll see a touch panel that allows us to draw a gesture that can be assigned to fast actions such as a call or launch an application. Very useful once you get used to using it, one of those functions that do not call too much attention at first but can become indispensable after a bit of use.

Overall coloros not Ok , but it is a launcher that does little more with some customization options somewhat limited. Benefit considerably from a few small adjustments, seeing the effort she puts into its Updates Oppo hope it arrives soon. The good thing is that the phone is very fast and works great coloros in this sense, that the end is one of the most important points.

Hardware and Performance

One of the things you have liked more we find is the very strong commitment that has been made by the hadrware the Oppo Find the 7th . The temptation to give up and go for MediaTek Qualcomm processor manufacturers is strong for second and third line, and so we have made policy makers see the top designer of processors. However, although falling within a restrained price, the Oppo Find the 7th has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 801 and 2GB of RAM. That is, the same specifications as its current competitors, except some like the Xperia Z2 who have decided to go for the 3GB of RAM.

As it could not be otherwise with this chipset and RAM , the device works great, is fast and fluid. The main difference if we get very picky, perhaps that is achieved not get as good a performance as we find in SGS5 and Xperia Z2 with autonomy, is that when we go to such a strong team, manage consumption rather than is is not easy, and is possibly one of the biggest design challenges for programmers face.

But generally speak of a smartphone with the same capacity as the top market on top brands, so a very positive point for the Find 7a, the lower the price we offer in this regard as well as others.

The Oppo Find 7a we find a screen 5.5 inch IPS with HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, resulting in a density of 403 pixels per inch PPI, which can be used with gloves, a detail that We can not pass unnoticed.

Although the weird thing at this point would be to find a bad display in a high-end smartphone, we must insist on good quality of this screen. It is difficult to choose one technology over another in smartphone screens, and each has its advantages, but the IPS panel Oppo Find the 7th is very good, with bright colors and not oversaturate good quality of brightness and contrast.

What seems, at least for testing the battery, which is a screen that consumes more battery power than others such as Samsung’s SuperAMOLED, although it is somewhat complicated measure because there are many other aspects that affect battery consumption.

In short, very good screen for the 7th Oppo Find unremarkable especially with very good performance and feel.

The main camera is a Oppo Find 7a Sony IMX214 sensor 13 Mpx and maximum aperture of f/2.0. Generally we get very good results, with vivid colors, and the only small problem could be some blurring, but when conditions are good the photos are excellent. Here we leave some beads samples:

The camera interface is very nice, and we have different useful and practical ways, although not all such art which are so fashionable far. Particularly remarkable super zoom mode or UltraHD , which takes photographs of 50 Megapixel. This camera takes 10 pictures, and those points where a single photograph filled by interpolation software, extra photographs used here to get that information. The result is not anything special, and not we notice a big difference in sharpness:

In video have many interesting options, but undoubtedly highlights the ability to record 4K video in slow motion at 120 fps. We leave a couple of samples:

Oppo Find 7 has a 2800 mAh battery, which is not small but maybe we should wait for a smartphone of this size. Comparison, the Xperia Z2 5.2 inch screen offers 3200 mAh and the Samsung Galaxy S5 has the same 2800 mAh with 5.1 “screen.

However, the battery performance is very good, and we get great autonomy with 2800 mAh offering, but having a substantially larger screen than the Xperia Z2 or SGS5, just having less battery life. That is, that while autonomy is good, does not reach these two top models against which it competes (of course you always have to take into account the lower price, but we try to get by now that factor of the equation).

After extensive tests, we find it hard to get to 24 hours of use, but we got to a use not quite intensive, getting about 4 hours of screen time, but usually the best, and usually go somewhat below these figures. In any case, it is a very good battery life, and possibly it is the screen technology and what most affects. href=”http://www.elandroidelibre.com/2014/04/oppo-find-7a-ya-disponible-en-europa-para-comprar-en-pre-reserva-por-399e.html”
