Since Google launched Google Lens in the Google I/O 2017, the company is integrating into almost all parts. Is in Google Photos, apps camera, Google search, in the Wizard of Google and now is directly integrated with Google Chrome.
If you want to use the magic of Google Lens on any image on a web page, you don’t need already to use the Wizard of Google, or to download the image first. With this new integration is as easy as use the context menu to search for any image in the Lens, directly from the browser.
The latest versions of Google Chrome for Android include the possibility of integrating Google Lens with the browser, but is not enabled by default, at least for the moment. You must therefore manually activate the flag called #context-menu-search-with-google-lens.
To do this, type in chrome://flags in the address bar of Google Chrome and then use the search engine until you find the feature flag called Google Lens powered image search in the context menu. Then choose Enabled, and restart the browser to apply the changes.
Google Lens a touch away
After you activate this function, when you do a long tap on any image embedded in a web page, you’ll see that in the context menu an option appears that was not there before: is Search with Google Lens.
When you tap on the option, the image is sent to Google Lens to be processed, where you will have the same processing is always that you can highlight texts, search shopping similar or show more information on the characters, companies or places.
Keep in mind that Google Lens is not exactly the same as the image search reverse, although yes will show the images “visually similar”. If you want an image search reverse to the classic style, are there alternatives to achieve.
