Many Judeo-Christian religious creeds affirm with total certainty that we are at the end of time. The book of Revelation, as well as prophecies of enlightened prophets of different centuries, have announced the arrival of the empire of an Antichrist, just before the total destruction.

In fact, there are a great number of references in this regard within the most important book for Christianity in general, detailing the reign of the prince of darkness before the second and final coming of Jesus Christ. We have compiled some of these signs to identify the Antichrist, according to the Bible:

He would be of Jewish origin

Even some Christian rabbis affirm it, as well as a good part of the researchers and scholars of these matters. They say that one of the main reasons is that it was the same Sanhedrin who was determined to kill Jesus Christ and succeeded, because they declared themselves totally contrary to his doctrine.

Similarly, the Jewish community in general, does not recognize Jesus as the messiah prophesied in the sacred Hebrew scriptures, but they brand him as an impostor and false messiah. That would be another fundamental proof that his counterpart comes from there, many writers suppose.

So in that order of ideas, the messiah fervently expected at this time by the Jews, is one of the main suspects of being the antichrist, from the point of view of the defenders that Jesus is the true one sent by God. The prophet Daniel also prophesied that the heirs of Abraham would in the future totally disobey the God of their fathers.

He will deceive with a false peace and prosperity

The Bible announces that, at some point in time, a very powerful subject will appear in the world who will become the absolute ruler of the world system and his empire will last for a while, while the true messiah or Christ finally appears, on the dreaded day of final judgment.

The scriptures indicate that this man will be “the beast”, “that wicked one”, “the little horn”, “the father of deceit”, “the man of sin”, among other names. Another book that refers to the subject, is Thessalonians, (1 Thess. 5:1-4), which to the letter reads:

“But concerning times and seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I should write unto you. For ye know perfectly well that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night: for when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, be not in darkness, lest that day come upon you as a thief.”

Several malevolent tyrants of the ages, such as Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin, Mao Tse-Tung, among others, have fit the description quite well: all without exception, they promised to find peace, prosperity and the best of the best, but through war and barbarism.

He could be a religious leader

The most ultra-orthodox faithful of the Catholic Church are currently very unhappy and upset with the positions and approaches adopted by the Vatican, which, according to them, go against the teachings and doctrine of the Gospels. Father Diego Berlioz, from Spain, is one of the representatives of the conservative part of the Church and accuses:

“One of the signs that the empire of the Antichrist that the Bible speaks of, is already very advanced, is that from a Jesus Christ demanding preacher of the norms necessary for salvation, we have passed to a person whose central purpose is to forgive sins and without any demand on the forgiveness he grants.”

To that effect, the antichrist would not come to appear as a follower of evil and terror, but would disguise himself as a great philanthropist, religious personage, full of desire to help people. The Apocalypse warns that the great majority of people would be deceived by that time, because in addition to his good-natured mask, he will show prodigies that will astonish multitudes.

It will be someone who will propose the New World Order

As already said, the idea of the Antichrist mentioned in several biblical books and prophets, is to establish a social system where he will be the leader and sole ruler, with a single global currency, a single world police, a single established religion; where borders and nationalities will collapse and where all people will have to submit to the dictatorial regime or perish.

One such staunch researcher of the antichrist is Vladimir Solovyov, who has written several works on the subject. Solovyov also describes him as a religious and political leader who will be able to deceive the whole world with ideas of prosperity and total change of the established international order, who will supposedly provide solutions to all the problems that have been experienced all these years.

St. Paul, one of the 12 disciples, pointed out in the book of Thessalonians, that the antichrist will sit in the temple of God and will show himself as the Supreme Deity. But once he is put on the throne by the same deceived people, he will show his true face of evil.

A Brazilian monk of the 15th century, left some chilling prophecies written that say:

“Every person will be recorded; not only every facet of his affairs and his life, but every word, every movement of his mental faculties will be under constant surveillance so that he will lose the habit of thinking for himself for fear that the expression of his face will involuntarily reflect something incompatible with the authority of the world ruler, that is, the antichrist.”
