This makes Komodo Island, in the Republic of Indonesia, an amazing place. Despite the risk of living on a site infested with animals that can weigh up to 90 kilos and be up to three meters long, there are around 2,000 brave people who share the island with the dragons. At present, it can only be accessed there with a special permit, because it is highly threatening to tourists.

It is one of the most magical and remote places in the world. It is located in the Fanjingshan Nature Reserve, in Guizhou Province, China. At the top of the mountain, two Buddhist temples were built: that of the Buddha and that of Maitreya. To reach the top, which has an elevation of 2,579 meters above sea level, 8,888 steps must be climbed. The construction alone is a great example of the enormous devotion of the Chinese Buddhists, who assure that the pilgrimage to these remote distances can grant enlightenment.

It is a mysterious island in the territory of Alaska, belonging to the United States. The site is so hidden that it was used by pirates to hide large treasures with gold coins. It was also a military base during the second world war. Despite the fact that the island is riddled with bombs and rains almost all year from the famous cyclonic storms, it has a population of 300 people and many tourists come looking for the pirates’ treasure. Several of them have disappeared without leaving any trace.

No one would imagine that in the United States, where technology and the avant-garde predominate, it has such a remote location that it does not have any decent access route for its 200 inhabitants. The site can only be reached by helicopter or mounted on a mule, for several days. Still, the difficulty is worth it, as Supai is considered one of the most beautiful remote towns in the world. Not only does it have a unique community, but being next to the Grand Canyon, it presents a stunning natural landscape.

On the remote island, is the town of Bantam, with less than 600 people inhabiting it. It has one of the most perfect temperate temperatures on the planet, which is maintained all year round. Despite being an almost paradisiacal place due to its incredible panoramic views, it is rarely visited.

Approximately 2,500 people live in the place, who have to suffer isolation from the rest of the world and extreme cold. For many, it is worth enduring the inclement weather to experience something so fascinating, in such a remote part of the world.

It is a volcanic island in the South Atlantic, in the British Archipelago. The nearest land is Africa. In the remote area, barely 258 people live. Among all, there are only nine different surnames. Its inhabitants speak English, but the roots of the town are from various countries; this has given rise to a new dialect, with words mixed in Scottish, Italian, South African and Dutch. To reach the remote island, you only have to take a boat that must travel 2,787 kilometers and that leaves only nine times a year.
