Today I bring you a complete tutorial where I show you how to update Samsung Galaxy S Advance with any firmware either through the air ( via OTA) through Odin and custom ROMs.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance is one of the most popular Android smartphones and so today I bring you a guide which will explain how to update the device either via OTA, with Odin or custom ROMs. Since new firmwares are released periodically and are appearing new ROMs, will update the post as new versions come out so you have all the options available in one place.

Update Samsung Galaxy S Advance (OTA)
This is the easiest option: update the device via OTA software updates that is built into the device itself.
1 – The first thing to do is connect your Samsung Galaxy S Advance to a Wi-Fi.
2 – Then we have to go to Settings -> About phone -> Software Updates .
3 – If you already have a Samsung account, then you can go to step 4, otherwise you will be prompted to create one . To do this you must select OK “/ Select” Register “, fill in the fields and select” Register “.
4 – Finally, press the Refresh and the software will search updates automatically. If there is one available for your device in your region, see the sign that updates are available and only need to select “OK “.

1 – The first thing to do is to know the model of your device as a function of time we should select the ROM unload, and this will depend on the success of the process.
To find the model of your Galaxy S Advance have to go to menu Settings> About phone and see the model number. For example, if we have the international version, the model number is GT-I8190.2 – Then, we download Odin3 and OFFICIAL ROM for that model to the PC:

3 – After downloading the ROM for your device, you must unzip the firmware file and Odin3 with WinZip or WinRAR.
4 – Then connect your Galaxy S Advance to the PC using the original USB cable and activate the USB debugging option from the Settings menu > , Setting System> Development> USB Debugging .
5 – Once activated it, you have to turn off the device to start in Mode Download . To do this you must hold Volume Down + center button and simultaneously press Power . If you’ve done well, you should see a green robot.
6 – Once your Samsung Galaxy S Advance is in Download Mode , connect the device to the computer using the original USB cable. There you will see that the section ID: COM is illuminated.

– Click on PDA and select the file. tar or. tar.md5
– Press in Phone and select the file with the word “modem” in its name
– Click on CSC and select the file with the word “CSC” in its name

Note : If you do not find the files that go into Phone, CSC and PIT ignore this step. IF you put the file in PDA.Once done hit “Start ” to start the update process. 8 – Once the firmware has been updated successfully, you should disconnect the USB cable and turn off the device to Recovery Mode . For this you press the Volume Up + Home button , and while holding both simultaneously press the power button .
9 – Once in Recovery mode , select Wipe data / factory reset and Wipe Cache partition and then restart the mobile by selecting Reboot system now with the help of the volume keys to scroll.
10 – Ready! Now you can enjoy the latest official firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S Advance
To change the default language must go to Settings -> Language & input . It is recommended to reconfigure the APN settings to avoid connection problems.
Update Samsung Galaxy S Advance (Custom ROMs)
If you are a user who likes bold experiment with your device and find ways to customize or enhance your performance, then you probably want to use custom ROMs. While there are a lot of formwares cooked, chosen by the vast majority of the community is CyanogenMod Android , so here I will explain how to install these Custom ROMs on your Samsung Galaxy S Advance .

3) Place both files without decompression phone memory and turn it off in order to start in Recovery Mode . This must press Volume Up + Home button , and while holding both simultaneously press the power button .4) Help with the Volume keys to move and Home to select, press wipe data / factory reset > YES – delete all user data em>.
5) After a few minutes the process was complete. Then you do the same as in the previous step but with the option wipe cache partition > YES – Wipe Cache .6) Next from the Recovery enters advanced and select Wipe Dalvik Cache > YES – Wipe Dalvik Cache .
7 ) Once we have made the three wipes , always sees Recovery install zip from sdcard > choose zip from internal sdcard and there select ROM file that you downloaded in step 2. Once you’ve selected press Yes – install cm-xx-xxxxxx-i9500.zip to start the installation process.8) Once process is finished in your Samsung Galaxy S Advance , returns to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from internal sdcard and click on the gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip (is the Google apps package). Then click Yes – install gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip to install it. 9) Once you’ve installed the ROM and gapps, select Reboot System Now in the first Recovery menu to reset the device. If you are not there select + + + + + Go Back + + + + + until you find it. 10) Once you restart your smartphone and will have completed the process. You will have achieved update Samsung Galaxy S with CyanogenMod 10.1 Advance (you should see the logo of CM)
