Roberto Gómez Bolaños, the Mexican actor who gave life to immortal characters such as Chespirito, Chompiras, Chapatín, Chaparrón Bonaparte or the Eight Chavo himself, was born on February 21, 1929 in the city of Mexico, and died on November 28, 2014 in the city of Cancun.

He was the son of Elsa Bolaños, a bilingual secretary, and Francisco Gómez, a painter, cartoonist and illustrator. He studied Engineering; however, I never got to exercise it. At the age of 22 he would pursue his first creative activity in the D’arcy Advertising. After this he wrote in various radio, television and film media, among them are the television programs “Estudio de Pedro Vargas” and “Cómicos y songs”, both in the first and second place of audience, respectively, and broadcast between the years 1960 and 1965 by the Mexican Telesistema network.
But it would be in 1968 that the birth of the legend began. By then Gómez Bolaños was called by the newborn Televisión Independiente de México and made the series of “Los supergenios de la mesa cuadrada” and “El Ciudadano Gómez.
In 1970 these spaces, which were before an hour, were expanded to an hour as their own space that Gómez Bolaños named Chespirito. It was there that the character of the Colorado Chapulín was born. Later the Chavo was born. The success achieved by both characters was so enormous that it was decided that they would make life aseparate. On the one hand Chespirito and, on the other, El Chavo.
By 1973 both programs were broadcast in almost all Latin American countries, in addition to the United States and Spain. In 1980 its programs were reunited and broadcast until 1995.
Roberto Gómez Bolaños also dabbled in the theater and made several films written and starring himself.
Between 1968 and 1989 he was married to Graciela Fernandez and, from 2004, married Florinda Meza. They are sons of Gómez Bolaños: Roberto, Graciela, Marcela, Paulina, Teresa and Cecilia.
On November 28, 2014, the world saw the creator of the unforgettable characters who marked an entire generation and virtually a continent.
